| The Contract Engineer´s role is the hub of the operations team for specific projects. The prime objective being to effectively and profitably complete installation contracts from order stage to commissioning and handover. In addition he/she must deal with day to day queries from customers and the installation staff. The vast majority of activity takes place on sites spread throughout the region, consequently the job involves a significant amount of travel.
Responsibilities: 1. Management of workforce. A motivated site team working to high productivity levels with a very high standard of workmanship and complying with best Health and Safety practice. Sub-contract labour must also be managed and controlled.
2. Planning and programming. Achieve company and customer satisfaction by planning and programming of materials and labour in conjunction with resource constraints and customer programmes.
3. Commercial control. Achieve contract completion at quoted or improved contribution by the use of monitoring and project control methods. To recognise and achieve payment for extra work or variation works.
4. Commercial Awareness Build good working relationships in key hospitals in the areas so that the company is aware of all tendering opportunities. Carry out surveys at hospitals to identify materials required and assist in preparation of tenders.
5. Organisation of Resource and To ensure all ancillary activities necessary for the completion of the contract Documentation are carried out, eg. data pack completion, site storage, material delivery and on-site liaison.
6. Safety and Quality. To ensure compliance with all Health and Safety legal requirements, including CDM regulations. To be responsible for the application of safety and health/loss control policies in the department and for adhering to quality standards and practices.
7. To ensure all company work is completed in line with the relevant quality standards and that the company maintains a reputation for the highest quality. |
